Dengo was born in 2017 in Bahia, Brazil, one of the country’s main cocoa growing regions. The aim was to create a chocolate brand celebrating Brazil’s cacao and chocolate culture. All the cacao is sourced from Brazil and turned into a wide range of chocolate products, many infused with typical Brazilian flavors such as Cupuacu, Baniwa peppers, lime and even cocoa pulp.
The hot chocolate is made with your choice of either dark or milk chocolate melted into warm oat milk. The staff, who every time I visited were so generous with their time, smiles and knowledge, offer to grate fresh Tonka bean on top and serve the hot chocolate with a selection of samples of their different chocolates. The seating area is warm, cosy and colourful with a range of chocolate themed reading material if you are sipping alone and loungy Brazilian tunes to transport you far, across the ocean, where it is much sunnier, and warmer than it is today in Paris.
From the service, the atmosphere, the hot chocolate, everything was fantastic and a highly recommended experience.
