Le Petit Dep translates as the corner shop. I wish I had a corner shop like this. Filled with local brands, it has an excellent selection of chocolates from Montreal based chocolate makers (including the amazing Qantu). The hot chocolate is a welcome break from the cold and icy streets of Old Montreal. The offers are dark or sweet but apart from that it is a bit of a mystery and nothing I’d run back to order. But I hear that sometimes during the year they offer special hot chocolates. Last year they created one with dark chocolate, raspberry puree, a Montreal made marshmallow, oat milk and maple sugar. That I would have liked to try.
